Doughboy Foundation’s award-winning WWI Teaching Resources on Display at NCSS 2024 Conference

The Doughboy Foundation’s award-winning WWI Teaching Resources featuring the WWI Memorial Apps will be on display at the 104th NCSS Annual Conference of the National Council for the Social Studies, November 22-24, 2024 at the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center in Boston, MA.

The annual NCSS Conference is a gathering of thousands of social studies educators, administrators, and professionals from across the country to inspire the best practices in the social studies profession.

The Doughboy Foundation will be exhibiting its educational apps and resources at the conference in Booth 116. The exhibits are open on Friday Nov. 22 9am-5pm, and Saturday Nov 23 9am-4pm. Exhibits are in Exhibit Hall C and Auditorium, on the Second Level.

The Doughboy Foundation’s award-winning WWI Teaching Resources are now available to middle and high school teachers through a partnership with the Verizon Innovative Learning HQ portal.

The WWI Teaching Resources include:

  • Standards driven content developed by leading U.S. WWI historians and educators
  • A growing catalog of curriculum adaptable Lesson Plans
  • Teacher Guides
  • Student Organizers
  • Unique Primary Sources
  • Rich Media content that is engaging and contemporary such as:
    • Augmented Reality interactive mobile apps
    • A NEW interactive Desktop App for school with Smartphone bans
    • A 20-page “The United States in WWI” textbook supplement
    • Lesson started Mini Video Documentaries on various WWI topics

The WWI Teaching Resources are being made available through Verizon Innovative Learning HQ, an initiative that helps bridge the digital divide by providing technology, internet access, technology supported curricula, and other resources to students and educators at schools across the country. Now, through this partnership the important lessons of World War I are accessible to public, private and homeschool educators bringing America’s consequential story in WWI to a next generation of learners.
