This is a list of video games depicting or set during World War One curated by The United States World War One Centennial Commission. By engaging the player in an immersive experience of World War One, these games promote a deeper interest and
a self-contained reward system for learning more about the period and conflict that defined a generation and still affects the world to this day. More than simply learning a list of facts, however, players will develop an intuitive knowledge of
both fundamental and peripheral concepts such as the conduct of war, the development of military technology, and the feeling of isolation and alienation which form an important foundation for contextualizing a more traditional approach to the

Valiant Hearts is the story of crossed destinies and a broken love in a world torn apart. In this point-and-click adventure, players will try to survive the horror of the trenches following their faithful canine companion. Over the course of
the game, the lives of the characters are inextricably drawn together. Friendship, love, sacrifice, and tragedy befall each one as they help each other to retain their humanity against the horrors of war. Though the story is fictitious, the
game brings the player to historic battles and locations, and presents primary and secondary historical material in the course of play.
Darkest Hour is a stand-alone Hearts of Iron grand strategy game. The game features a mixture of short and in-depth campaigns set across the darkest chapters of the 20th century. Play from the outbreak of the Great War up until the onset of the
Cold War. For every country in the world, all of which are playable, Darkest Hour simulates internal politics, diplomacy, trade, combat on air, sea, and land, economics, trade, and research. Added to this is an astonishing integration of

Battle of Empires: 1914-1918 is a series of tactical real-time strategy campaigns available in single player, co-op, and multiplayer, which tell the story of one of the bloodiest wars in mankind’s history – The First World War. The first
scenario of the series is devoted to the battles between French and German armies on the Western Front – additional scenarios cover the British and Russian experience, as well as the Battle of the Somme. The game focuses on realism in combat,
with personal inventories and weapons for each unit, vehicle damage calculated according to thickness and angle of armour, and multiple calibers of guns and artillery with commensurate effects on combat.
Wings Over Flanders Fields is an extensive, immersive single-player flying simulation game. Choose from 370 historically based Western Front squadrons and execute plausible randomly-generated missions until armistice or death. With
mixed-ability AI, a mechanical failure system, and incidental activity on the battlefield, missions are unpredictable and dynamic. Even your kills aren’t guaranteed to count if your claim doesn’t pass muster. With a strong focus on tactical and
logistical realism, Wings Over Flanders Fields provides an excellent experience of the battle for the skies in World War One.
