The Summer Concert Series at the National World War I Memorial kicks off on June 25\, 2026 at 5 p.m. and this year’s opening is extra special.  \nWe are proud to present a special concert celebrating 250 years of American music\, highlighting the nation’s rich history through sound as we approach the semiquincentennial of the United States of America.  \nJoin us on a journey of American music from the Revolutionary War\, featuring the Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps to battle hymns to the Raiders March and modern patriotic favorites. For this June opening\, we are thrilled to recognize the USO—and pay special tribute to the hardworking staff and volunteers who make their mission possible \nWe will take you and your family through a journey of American music from the Revolutionary War to battle hymns to the Raiders March and modern patriotic favorites. \nRSVP HERE – SUMMER CONCERT SERIES🎺 Who Is Performing\nDoughboy Foundation’s American Expeditionary Forces Headquarters Band:  This award-winning globally famous group has entertained crowds in the U.S.A. and across Europe. \nThe Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps:  This elite group comes from the Military District of Washington. They bring history alive with incredible traditional sounds. \nThe 8th Green Machine Regiment Band:  This unique historical brass ensemble based at George Mason University in Fairfax\, Virginia brings 19th-century American band music to life using period-accurate instruments\, over-the-shoulder bells\, and authentic mouthpieces. \nThe Summer Concert Series will take place every fourth Thursday in June\, July\, and August.   The September concert is on Friday\, September 18 from 5 – 6 p.m..  Save the dates to experience an epic musical journey through time brought to you by the Doughboy Foundation. DESCRIPTION:The Doughboy Foundation will sponsor the annual Bells of Peace Ceremony on Tuesday November 11\, 2026\, starting at 11:00 a.m. EST with prelude music by the American Expeditionary Forces Band Brass Quintet starting at 10:45 a.m. at The National World War I Memorial in Washington\, DC\, located on Pennsylvania Ave between 14th and 15th streets. The ceremony is free and open to the public\, or can be watched via livestream on our Youtube channel. \nBells of Peace commemorates the end of World War I and honors the 4.7 million Americans who donned the uniform and the 116\,516 who lost their lives in that conflict. November 11 is now Veterans Day\, a day to recognize all military Veterans of the United States Armed Forces.
