The Summer Concert Series at the National World War I Memorial kicks off on June 25\, 2026 at 5 p.m. and this year’s opening is extra special.  \nWe are proud to present a special concert celebrating 250 years of American music\, highlighting the nation’s rich history through sound as we approach the semiquincentennial of the United States of America.  \nJoin us on a journey of American music from the Revolutionary War\, featuring the Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps to battle hymns to the Raiders March and modern patriotic favorites. For this June opening\, we are thrilled to recognize the USO—and pay special tribute to the hardworking staff and volunteers who make their mission possible \nWe will take you and your family through a journey of American music from the Revolutionary War to battle hymns to the Raiders March and modern patriotic favorites. \nRSVP TO ATTEND HERE – SUMMER CONCERT SERIESRSVP TO ACCESS LIVESTREAM – SUMMER CONCERT SERIES🎺 Who Is Performing\nDoughboy Foundation’s American Expeditionary Forces Headquarters Band:  This award-winning globally famous group has entertained crowds in the U.S.A. and across Europe. \nThe Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps:  This elite group comes from the Military District of Washington. They bring history alive with incredible traditional sounds. \nThe 8th Green Machine Regiment Band:  This unique historical brass ensemble based at George Mason University in Fairfax\, Virginia brings 19th-century American band music to life using period-accurate instruments\, over-the-shoulder bells\, and authentic mouthpieces. \nThe Summer Concert Series will take place every fourth Thursday in June\, July\, and August.   The September concert is on Friday\, September 18 from 5 – 6 p.m..  Save the dates to experience an epic musical journey through time brought to you by the Doughboy Foundation. DESCRIPTION:The Doughboy Foundation\, in partnership with the Trust for the National Mall  and the National Park Service\, presents Notes of Remembrance on Monday\, May 25\, 2026. At 8:00 AM\, buglers will stand at 16 different memorials across the National Mall to play “Taps” in a coordinated tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the United States. \nThis 2026 edition serves as a signature event for the America 250 celebrations on “America’s Front Yard.” As the 24-note call begins\, visitors are invited to pause for a unified moment of silence. \nTaps will be sounded at 8 am at the following locations: \n\nAfrican American Civil War Memorial\nAmerican Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial\nDC War Memorial\nDesert Storm and Desert Shield Memorial (future site)\nDwight D.
